Four years ago when Foundation Academy Charter School moved into its new location in Trenton, New Jersey, their small playground was in a dire state. An army of Dr Pepper Snapple volunteers from Bai recently assembled a new playground for Foundation Academy, and they also packaged more than $100,000 in sports equipment to give to the surrounding community. Today, 600 students are doing what kids are supposed to do: play.
Through a sports equipment grant from Dr Pepper Snapple’s Let’s Play initiative, the 8,200 kids of the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County now have sports gear that matches their enthusiasm.
This past March, Dr Pepper Snapple awarded a $10,000 grant to Play Ball Indiana (PBI) to replenish much-needed gear and uniforms. PBI anticipates serving 2,500 more kids within the next three years, keeping our national pastime alive in Indy.
Through Dr Pepper Snapple’s Let’s Play initiative, Judson Center’s Royal Oak, Michigan, campus now has a recreation area that provides a fun play space and learning environment for children and families in the community.
Let’s Play is a Dr Pepper Snapple Group initiative that provides kids and families with the tools, places, and inspiration to make active play a daily priority. To help make this possible, DPS partners with KaBOOM! to build and improve playgrounds and with Good Sports to provide grants for sports equipment.
